Sleeping in the game lets you dream, and dreaming allows you to go out and explore other islands – and some very different types of islands.
So read on to find out everything you need to know about dreaming in Animal Crossing and where to go in the process.

What are dream islands?
There is a difference between going to another island in a traditional way via the airport and dreaming to one. For one thing, you can’t take anything with you when you leave. If you try to bring items, Luna will take them away from you – but don’t worry, you’ll get everything back.
Also, there isn’t much you can do while visiting Dream Islands. You can explore and download custom themes that you find, but that’s essentially all you can do.
Which islands can be visited depends on the person who designed them. You can set a code that will appear on your pass and card and people will use to visit your island while they sleep.
This is how you can find other codes for sights as well. It’s important to note that you can’t wear a morphing wand outfit if you plan to go somewhere while you sleep.
How to dream in Animal Crossing
Sleeping is much easier in the game than in real life – which makes us very jealous. All you have to do is follow these steps:
- Go into your house and lie down on your bed.
- When the options appear, select “I want to sleep”
- Now select “I want to dream”
- Make sure you are online.
- Enter the Dream Address Code of your choice
- Now you get there and you can explore it!
When you’re done looking around, all you have to do is go to bed and lie down. If you too would like to share your dream address, do so from your bed and then select “I want to share a dream”.
